Such a gorgeous piece. Made me cry. I hope you crowdfund your film- I will push it a lot!!!! Have a wonderful trio and Happy Anniversary to you and Marjorie, my favorite guest star.
Many thanks, MT, and I'll pass along your kind words to my bride. And so so so appreciate your offer to help my crowdfunding efforts. I'm aiming to launch around Valentine's Day, and I've never done a campaign for any of my own films before. So your help will be invaluable!
I’ve crated and overseen one a long time ago but I’m happy to discuss with you in advance and of course I will fully promote!!!! I think you have so many followers and admirers that this could be a very successful campaign!
I knew what you meant!! And I’m offering to discuss w you and help you strategize. Sometimes you need an outsider’s input on how to sell your film and yourself bc it’s hard to pimp oneself out!
Ha I didn’t mean fully work on it but I’m happy to discuss with you and strategize in advance for sure. Sometimes you need an outsider bc it’s hard to pimp oneself out!
It will make my comment numbers look better, so double comment away :)
Look forward to discussing more when I'm back from Paris. Lunch, perhaps? Again, many thanks. That my post made you cry is the best praise I can imagine.
By pure happenstance, I watched all your films in chronological order. I learned quickly to lean in when Marjorie appeared. She's the conscience of your films, even if she appears only for a minute. Such an inspired decision to include her in "Home Page" and then to realize what she brings to any film you make. Anyway, congrats on your anniversary, Doug. If you're going to do a rerun, Paris is a damned fine choice. I'm so very eager to watch "Betty & Henri." Safe travels!
Thanks, Scott, and many thanks for becoming a paid subscriber. Rushing to pack my bags so I need to keep this short, but I'm sure we'll talk more down the line.
Bon voyage! And Happy Anniversary. What a lovely tribute. The scene in the Musée D’Orsay reminds of a phrase by Antoine St. Exupery: “Love is not staring into each other’s eyes but looking outward in the same direction”.
This is a beautiful reflection. Thank you so much for sharing. I am very excited for both of you to have this trip together. It was lovely to see you at DOC NYC right before you set off! Best wishes.
Thanks, Lance. Great to see the Kramer Bros, even if too briefly. Looking forward to seeing your newest doc and best of luck with getting it out widely.
So beautifully written, Doug!! I wish you two a wonderful trip and a happy anniversary! I also wish that one day we will all watch this end scene you described on a big screen, it sounds incredibly romantic :)

I meant by helping spread the word, not actually working on the campaign itself. Sheesh, that's REAL work!

I love seeing two of my favorite filmmakers in the same thread. Hey Lance!
A very beautiful celebration. Just the right amount of personal! Enjoy that exit row! And congratulations.
Thanks so much, Tim. Have a great IDFA!
Have a great trip!

Thanks, Simone. It's funny, the second Marj said Paris I saw this scene in my head. Good luck with your edit and we'll talk soon. xo
